Proposals & Voting
Proposals
While proposals can impact all users and holders of Delta, the collected fees and earnings are redistributed to Delta stakers. Therefore, only holders of gDelta can submit proposals. Currently, there are no plans to implement minimum staking thresholds or vesting periods for proposal submission eligibility.
How It Works
Community Sentiment: In Discord, community members can gauge overall sentiment for their proposal.
Submission: After gathering sufficient support, proposals are submitted as an SIP (Delta Improvement Proposal) via Snapshot for community voting.
Voting: Once quorum is reached, the SIP moves to a formal vote on Snapshot. Voting weight is determined based on gDelta holdings.
Result Publication: If the proposal passes, results are published on Delta’s social channels and move towards implementation.
Proposal Implementation
All approved proposals are sent to the core team for further review. The developer team assesses feasibility and suggests necessary adjustments. After this review, it will be determined if additional voting is needed. If not, the proposal is added to the roadmap.
The core team may adjust the execution of a proposal based on the following criteria:
Security Risks: If the proposal poses a threat to the protocol's security or longevity.
Conflicts: If the proposal conflicts with other proposals or activities on the roadmap.
Incomplete Information: If the proposal lacks clear or accurate information affecting informed decision-making.
Resource Impact: If the proposal requires significant time or funds, impacting the team’s ability to continue protocol development.
The core team will provide a clear response within a reasonable timeframe following a proposal's approval.
Rejected Proposals
Rejected proposals cannot be resubmitted for a set period, nor can similar proposals be submitted during this time. This policy helps prevent endless discussions and ensures efficient use of time and resources.
This structured approach ensures that proposals are carefully considered and implemented effectively, contributing to the ongoing development and governance of the Delta protocol.
